How I Went from [A] to [B]

Transformation Title Format

Frame a personal result as a journey whose method and turning points can be reused by the viewer.

Copy the title formula

Specific starting state + credible end state + implied method

How I Went from [specific starting state] to [specific result] [optional: in time]

How to fill the placeholders

Write the most specific version the footage can support. Remove any detail that exists only to make the title sound bigger.

[specific starting state]

Choose a baseline the video can establish honestly. A number, constraint, skill level, or concrete situation works better than an insult aimed at your former self.

[specific result]

Name an outcome the video can show and explain. The gap should be meaningful without implying that every viewer will reproduce it.

[optional: in time]

Include the duration only when it changes how viewers interpret the journey and the dates are documented.

When this Format works

Use it when both states are concrete, honest, and meaningfully different. The video should show the bridge, not merely celebrate the outcome.

Why it creates interest

The contrast makes progress legible. “How” promises a causal path, while the first-person framing supplies evidence that someone completed it.

When not to use it

Skip this format when the starting state is unverifiable, the result is mostly subjective, or the video celebrates the destination without explaining the decisions between A and B.

Weak and strong adaptations

The stronger draft is not a performance claim. It is simply more concrete, supportable, and aligned with the story.

Weak

How I Went from Bad to Amazing

Both states depend on self-assessment, and the title gives the viewer no way to understand the scale or reuse the journey.

Stronger

The endpoints are legible and the word How makes the path, not just the milestone, the promise of the video.

Pair it with the thumbnail

Let the title state both endpoints. Use the thumbnail for the bridge: one decisive change, a clean before-and-after visual, or the artifact that made the result possible. Repeating both numbers in large text adds little.
